Only a short stroll away from Southend is the beautiful River Gannel. A tidal estuary with picturesque clear waters which leads onto Crantock Beach. Explore the beautiful estuary at high tide. At low tide, take the children crabbing or stroll along the river banks to Crantock’s golden sand banks. Newquay’s vibrant town centre and world famous Fistral Beach is only a few minutes away. If you are looking for action, why not book a surf lesson and head into the waves.

The top floor in this reversed accommodation is home to the fully equipped kitchen and dining area. With double oven, induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer and dining table with seating for 6 guests. Move into the open plan living area with 2 modern leather sofa’s, a further dining table & chairs for 8 people, 65” tv with Sky Q box. The sliding patio doors lead on the south facing balcony overlooking the river. This is the perfect place to entertain your guests.

The top floor is also home to the master super king sized (can be made as 2 single beds if preferred) bedroom with en-suite shower room. The second bedroom has zip and link beds giving you the option to have either 2 single beds or a king sized bed and a 55″ TV with sky Q. The top floor homes a family bathroom with a bath.

Bedroom three and four are located on the ground floor. The third bedroom has the option of the zip and link beds (two singles or king sized) and the fourth bedroom is single bunk beds sleeping 2. Please advise at the time of booking how you would like the bed configurations, if we do not hear from you we will dress the property as per the previous booking. The ground floor also has a utility room for your laundry needs and a family bathroom with bath (No toilet). The incredible cinema room is also located on the ground floor; with a PS5 console and 75″ smart TV with Sky Q this room is the perfect second lounge. In the large spacious garage there is table tennis which will provide heaps of entertainment during your stay. There is also a soft drinks fridge which will be topped up for your stay.

Externally there is a 6 person hot tub, Webber gas BBQ, garden furniture, sun loungers, car charging port and parking in the garage for 2 cars.

The house and grounds were lovely. All the double bedrooms are a good size, with only the bunk room being on the small side. The living room and kitchen had everything we needed and the welcome pack of coffee, teas and some drinks in the garage fridge were very welcome. The main downside was related to the bathrooms. Not having a downstairs toilet is a real disadvantage.  That said with only 4 of us, the house was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the area. I particularly liked the close proximity to the estuary and cafe.
With regards to my experience of Newquay Holiday Letting, I was very happy with the correspondence. All emails were replied to within a short period.

We had a wonderful week at Southend and found the property to be perfect for us and our grown-up children, their partners, and our three dogs. There was plenty of room for us all! The bedrooms were all very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. We were ‘blown away’ by the generous welcome pack too! The property is way better than the photos show and one of the best things is the riverside view from the lounge balcony which we enjoyed even when the sun went in. The walk to Fistral Beach is about 15 minutes, and Crantock Beach is closer, but both are great and very different from each other. There are plenty of other lovely beaches to visit with only a short drive from the property, many being dog-friendly. We had deliveries from Asda and Amazon during our stay, so the property was easy to find. Being close to Newquay meant that we had access to plenty of supermarkets, shops, and restaurants, as well, but we dined in most nights as that was perfect for us after busy days surfing and walking. Pentire is a lovely, peaceful place to spend time on holiday. The price was excellent for 2023, and we would highly recommend this property. The rent for 2024 is above our budget but we’d love to return one day.

We had a great time at Southend. The location of the property is amazing as it’s only 10 minutes to the Gannel estuary or Fistral beach. The house has fantastic views over the estuary and was comfortable and clean.

We stopped at Southend riverside property for 7 days, the location was perfect with great views. It was nice to have the table tennis table in the garage which kept the kids entertained. The hot tub was lovely to get into of a night and relax in. The property has everything you will need, our only thing we could comment on, is it would of been nice to have a toilet in the bathroom downstairs, this wasn’t a major problem but would of been good for the family that was stopping in the bedrooms on the ground floor. I wouldn’t let this put me off from stopping again though. There was a welcome hamper for when we arrived which was nice a nice touch, especially if you have been driving along way, just saves you having to go out for things straight away. All in all was a great holiday in a nice property.

Southend provided a great stay for two families with easy access by walking to both Crantock and Fistral. The views of the Gannel are fabulous from upstairs and everyone enjoyed the amazing hot tub. The property was well equipped with glasses, cutlery and crockery. The house has one bedroom with ensuite and then a downstairs and upstairs family bathroom but only one lavatory other than in the ensuite. There is a great gas BBQ. The driveway accommodates two vehicles. Louise and the team were very responsive to any issues and open to suggestions to improve and any minor issues we experienced didn’t detract from an overall great property in a superb location. We would recommend a stay at Southend on the Gannel.

Southend is a very spacious home in a peaceful location with beautiful views over the river Gannel. We were a party of 8 (4 adults, two older kids and two toddlers) and there was plenty of space for all of us. For us, the location was great. You can access the river Gannel and Crantock beach via the steps at the Fern Pit Cafe. A small ferry will take you the short distance across the river when the tide is high (£1.40 for adults, £0.70 for kids) and you can simply walk across the bridge at low tide. The house itself is very well equipped, with no shortage of glasses and crockery. The living room is large with enough seating for everyone and a dining table that comfortably seats 8. The kids loved the cinema room and the table tennis table in the garage. The outdoor space is also lovely and very private, with a bbq, large table, hot tub and hammock. The only thing missing is a downstairs toilet! We would definitely stay here again.

This is a fabulous house and we didn’t want to leave! Clearly a lot of money has been spent on the renovation and there are high quality and stylish furnishings. The bathrooms haven’t had the same level of renovation as the rest of the house but they were clean and functional so no issues there. The kitchen is well stocked with crockery, glassware and cooking equipment, most of which was still brand new for our stay. There was only myself and my partner staying with our baby so the house felt very spacious for us but a larger number of guests would still have lots of space as the living area is massive and there is the added bonus of the cinema room and garage with a table tennis table. The property is in a peaceful location and there is a lovely cafe along the road and a bistro on the headland, but it is only a short walk into the busier area of Newquay. It’s only a few minutes down to Crantock beach which again is quite peaceful, Fistral beach is also walking distance and has a little more going on. So there was plenty to do without needing to drive out anywhere. We had an amazing stay and would absolutely recommend this house to anyone.
